Sophie Cunningham feet and footwear news peaked in July 2026, when her first Adidas player exclusive, a pink Crazy Energy colorway, sold out by 10 a.m. ET on Friday, July 24, according to Sporting News. A year earlier she had worn $45 Adidas sneakers in WNBA games, Sports Illustrated noted, before starring in a Dame X campaign.

A player exclusive version of the Adidas Crazy Energy, not a signature model. Footwear News said the colorway mirrors her personality and Midwestern roots: a pink gradient with baby blue and orange accents, a cowboy graphic on the sockliner and "Giddy Up" printed inside the tongue. It launched in the WNBA Crazy Energy Pack alongside a Satou Sabally colorway.
Sports Illustrated described the upper as a Lucid Pink gradient, with Cream White on the collar and laces, light blue in the mesh side panels and bright orange on the medial midsole. Adult pairs cost $110.
She posted "today's the day" on release morning, and most sizes were gone within hours, Sporting News reported. Her thank you on X followed: "you guys really showed up! nothing but genuine love for yall." By July 31, SI said, the average StockX resale price was $243, with some sizes listed at $499, and the shoe was sold out at Adidas, Dick's Sporting Goods and Hibbett. Neither a restock nor a second colorway was rumored at the time.
FN reported that the WNBA player exclusives are part of a long term Adidas strategy with its wholesale partners to grow women's basketball sales. "We continue our journey to be the next generation brand of basketball," said Max Staiger, the brand's global general manager for basketball, in a statement that named her exclusive drop among the weekend's programs.
Sporting News pointed to her candid interviews, social posts and on court moments, including a finger pointing exchange with Phoenix veteran DeWanna Bonner, as reasons for her reach. SI added that her outspoken personality and her role alongside Clark built a fan base willing to buy her shoes.

Her pregame arrivals get their own coverage. SI's style desk described a black leather jacket with cobalt and white stripes, leather shorts and silver heeled sandals in early July 2026, noting she had already worn the shorts and heels before a July 5 game against the Las Vegas Aces.
At the 2026 playoffs she arrived for Game 1 on September 27 in head to toe animal print by LaPointe, and for Game 2 on September 29 in an all white zip mini dress with matching heels.

Wikipedia records that she led Rock Bridge High School in Columbia to four straight state titles, then became Missouri's all time leading scorer and a third team All-American.
