Her mother enrolled her at a ballet studio near the family home when she was very young. In her debut interview with Weverse Magazine she said it first felt like playing with friends, and that competitions later showed her what a professional dancer could become.
Her training took her a long way from home. The Korea Herald reports that she attended the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow and the Royal Ballet School in the UK before moving on to the Dutch National Ballet Academy in the Netherlands, where she was studying when Source Music signed her.
She told Weverse Magazine she was getting ready for ballet company auditions at her school when the label got in touch. By then she had begun to ask whether ballet alone was really her dream.
She keeps a diary for big decisions, and rereading her entries from that period, she said, made it obvious that she wanted to take her life in a new direction.
With classes disrupted during the pandemic and auditions moved online, she sent the label two videos. One was a dance cover of BTS’s Dynamite and the other showed her ballet work.
She picked Dynamite partly for its dance break. Watching BTS perform it, she noticed how each member brought a personal style to the same steps, and she singled out Jimin for the way he balanced classical dance with pop choreography.
Her interest in Korean pop began with BLACKPINK, after she stumbled on the Boombayah music video on YouTube. Seeing the group live in Osaka moved her to tears and made her want a stage of her own.
Rapping was completely new to her when she arrived in Seoul, so she copied her instructor until it felt natural. She also had to think about her face on camera for the first time, because ballet audiences sit far from the stage while idol performances are filmed in close up.
Photo shoots needed the same adjustment. A ballet profile picture, she joked, is little more than a passport photo for auditions, while idol shoots call for many different expressions, so she practised alone in front of a mirror. Sakura, she added, quietly helped her whenever a Korean word escaped her.
After the debut, fan videos of her performances spread quickly online. Viewers picked up on the ballet lines in her movement, and that style became her calling card within the group.
Blending the two was harder than it looked. Talking about the debut track Blue Flame, she explained that ballet steps either looked like pure ballet or vanished inside the routine, and that both styles depend on solid basics.
She is credited as a lyricist on Swan Song and Fearnot.
In December 2025 she took a solo slot at the KBS Song Festival in Incheon, covering Jung Kook’s Standing Next to You in a blue velvet suit. Star News singled out how comfortably she handled the stand mic choreography and how relaxed she stayed through a fast routine.
LE SSERAFIM played the Sahara stage at Coachella in April 2024. That September the group won the MTV Video Music Award for PUSH Performance of the Year with Easy.
In October 2025 the single album Spaghetti reached number 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 46 on the UK Official Singles Chart, according to Yonhap.
In May 2026 the group released Pureflow pt. 1, its first full length album in almost three years and the follow up to Unforgiven from 2023. The lead single, Celebration, came out on 24 April, a month before the album.
Pureflow pt. 1 entered the Billboard 200 at number 10, and the Pureflow tour opened with two nights in Incheon in July.
Kazuha has fronted beauty campaigns for Etude House, Lancôme and VIDIVICI. In May 2025 Lululemon named her an ambassador for its Live Like You Are Alive campaign.
According to the Korea Herald, the brand agreed to supply training, performance and everyday wear for her stages around the world. In her statement she described movement, from dancing to walking outdoors, as a core part of her life.
A Lululemon Instagram post quoted by the Korea Herald said she lives like movement is the strongest way to express herself, and traced her path from professional ballet to K pop superstardom.
In 2026 she joined the cast of the second season of Kian’s Bizarre B&B, which premiered on 22 September.
